Third Wave is a C & C 37R built of light high tech materials for offshore and ocean racing. The first owner was Hans Fogh, an Olympic Gold Medal Sailor and accomplished Ocean Racer.
She has been owned by Hal Davies since 1999. During this period, Third Wave has been a Marblehead to Halifax Class Champion, a three-time Premier Class` Season Champion and winner of a number of Club and regional regattas, as well as three-time winner of the prestigious Friar Trophy for 100 mile offshore racing in Nova Scotia. She is an active racer, having competed 57 times in the 2009 racing season.
Third Wave regularly each year adds a young sailor to the crew to offer younger people the opportunity to experience the challenge of racing and becoming a team member in a larger offshore capable vessel, while at the same time maintaining a crew pool for 3W future seasons.
