The Yacht
"Sea Smoke" is a J&J designed Bavaria 38 produced in Germany. Her home port is the Royal Nova Scotia Yacht Squadron and she will be competing for the 2nd time in Route Halifax Saint-Pierre, this time in the PHRF-Racing division (owner Mike Evans and his crew are working on a fairing, based upon the America's Cup multihulls, to streamline the airflow around the barbeque on the pushpit). In 2008 she was 2nd to finish (the Cruising division started 1 day ahead of the racing divisions), 2nd in the Cruising division and won the Armed Forces Competition. Sea Smoke has also competed in the Marblehead-to-Halifax Ocean Race. The photo above is Sea Smoke crossing the Route Halifax Saint-Pierre finish line in 2008.
