The owners of the Tartan 3700, Glenesk, are Mike Archibald/Linda Langley
Mike is a lifer in the sailing game. He grew up racing dinghies and cruising on the family boat TARTAR and skippered her in the BORC offshore series in the Mid 80s. Mike skippered the NS entry in the Challenge Canada Canadian offshore Championship, winning first place. Since then he has done the occasional Marblehead-to-Halifax Ocean Race on various vessels and a Newport- Bermuda Race.
In the fall of 2007 Glenesk sailed to the Bahamas for adventure and R&R and returned last spring. Most of the crew from that sail are back for Route Halifax Saint-Pierre and on to the Bras d’Or lakes for some cruising after the race. It would appear they had some fun!
The crew so far include:
Mike Archibald - Skipper
Mat Archibald - a.k.a. the teenager/bowman (he's actually 21)
Dean McNeil - blackberry king and vessel image consultant
Roger Hammond - cook/driver extraordinaire and wild life expert
Sandy Gills - can sleep in any condition (wet, dry, cold, sideways, through gales)
Paul the eye doc Rafuse - all but the teenager have vision problems so the crew needs him
TBD another teenager
And the ever important Racer Chasers/Delivery Crew:
Linda Langley, Patti Gillis, Peggy Hammond and Krista
