June 2010: Shipping Container info for
Route Halifax Saint Pierre Race 2010


This is to confirm that 1 x 40' container will be available at the Royal Nova Scotia Yacht Squadron, Purcells Cove, Halifaxeither on Friday July 2nd or at the latest on Monday July 5th for the crew to load their own gears.

Make sure somebody at the Squadron is in charge to collect all the information on the goods loaded per sailing boat(+ approx. weight) from each crew in order to issue clearance for Customs.
Don't forget you're coming to a foreign country and container has to pass through Customs.

Container has to be closed and ready to go at the latest Thursday July 8th.

Container will be picked up and delivered for loading on the Dutch Runner very early in the morning on Friday July 9th.

Container will be delivered in St Pierre on Monday July 12th.

You can put anything, within reason, in the container.
Remember that there will be 40 boats doing the same thing!

February 26 2010: Survival Systems Training offers 1 day ISAF Survival at Sea Course
Survival Systems Training of Dartmouth will be offering a one day course in survival training that will provide the participant with invaluable training and an ISAF certificate. Although not on their web calendar yet, the course is taking place on April 16 2010 at Survival Systems in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia.
A prerequisite for the course is medical fitness.

This Inauguaral event immediatly follows the Route Halifax Saint-Pierre Race and promises to be an exciting addition to the seasons racing schedule.



The Ocean One Race will start in the summer of 2010 from the French territories of Saint Pierre and Miquelon and follow an easterly route 200 nautical miles to St. John’s, Newfoundland and Labrador.
